Okay I received a cool new gadget from Square. It's a credit card reader that attaches to my iPad and allows me to take credit card payments.

That means that whether I'm in Los Angeles or Lancaster I can now accept a credit card for services and the purchaser gets an email recording all the information.
The card reader is free and is sent via mail. The software is free via download from iTunes. The whole thing connects to my bank after Square has verified the accont information.
Square appears to charge standard rates for the service.
The only possible drawback is that they don't process more than $1000 a week without holding payments for 30 days.
So for small psychology providers and for anyone traveling to provide fee for service offerings, this might be a great idea.
